Rescuing Eachother: Veterans and dogs united
Napa
Napa- 2 Year old Lab/German Shepherd Mix
Napa was rescued from the Clinton Animal Shelter in October of 2025 to be trained as a service dog for a veteran. He has been training at Dalmatia BnB since then. Napa is a friend to all and knows no enemy. There is evidence of abuse in his past as he was slow to trust his trainer. He has slowly been coming out of his shell and gaining new confidence every day. His favorite thing to do is to play fetch or "find the squirrel" with his toy squirrel.
Napa will be trained to alert for early migraine detection, retrieving items, and PTSD support.

Dustin
Dustin is a proud Air Force veteran who dedicated 5.5 years as a U-2 Aircraft Crew Chief. During his service, he was stationed at Beale Air Force Base in California and completed two overseas deployments to the Middle East and the Mediterranean. After being medically retired in January 2023, Dustin made his home in the Kansas City area.
Today, Dustin works for ServiceMaster Brands as a Field Supervisor, where he helps businesses find peace and hope after disasters such as fires, floods, or storms. His work supports business owners both locally and across the country as they rebuild and restore.
Dustin is happily married and cherishes his blended family, including a daughter from a previous marriage. His wife and daughter are his greatest motivators and sources of inspiration. Together, Dustin and his wife hope to grow their family and build a homestead in Missouri, with dreams of giving back to their community.
In his spare time, Dustin enjoys building LEGO creations, researching genealogy, and making homemade fruit jams. He loves road trips, exploring new places, and serving his church and those in need. As a devoted sports fan, Dustin cheers for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Mavericks, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, and splits his baseball loyalty between the Colorado Rockies and Kansas City Royals. He also enjoys attending concerts and NASCAR races.
Dustin lives in Kansas City, and thanks to Battle Buddy, every expense related to his service dog training—fuel, hotel stays, meals, and much more—is fully covered. This is only possible with the support of generous donors. Please consider making a gift of any amount to help Battle Buddy continue this life-changing mission. Training is already underway, and expenses are quickly adding up.
